It is commonly believed that Satta Matka was started in 1960s by individuals popularly regarded as Matka Kings. The Matka Kings won a huge amount of money from Matka gambling, along with popularizing the number-based lottery system across India. However, SattaMatka actually originated under the British rule in India.
According to Wikipedia.org, the initial version of the lottery system was regarded as the Ankada Jugar. The lottery system allowed players to make a windfall gain by placing bets on the opening and closing rates of cotton transmitted from the New York Cotton Exchange.
However, Satta Matka is one of those forms of lotteries which have been evolving consistently. In the 1960s, the Matka Kings changed the format and rules of Ankada Jugar. They replaced Ankada Jugar with SattaMatka. Unlike Ankada Jugar, Satta Matka allowed players to place bets on numbers selected randomly in two sets.
Also, the Matka Kings converted the lottery draws into glamorous events by deciding the winning number by pulling slips from a Matka or large earthenware jar. Hence, the modern format of the lottery system has been associated with legendary Matka Kings like Klayanji Bhagat and Rattan Khatri.
Both Khatri and Bhagat revamped the format and rules of the original lottery system. Bhagat started Worli Matka 1962, while Khatri started New Worli Matka in 1964. However, SattaMatka as a popular form on Indian lottery reached the zenith in the decades of 1980s and 1990s.
The popularity of Satta Matka as remained intact since 1962. A large percentage of players in India prefer Satta Matka to online lotteries. But they use websites to play the exciting lottery game without involving any intermediaries or agents. The websites further help players to learn lottery rules, track lottery draws, and know lottery results without putting extra time and effort.
